UNFOLD
UNFOLD is a web platform in the field of information security that provides companies with technical and organizational measures catered to their needs, putting the user at the center of the equation for the first time in this field. This is achieved by helping companies understand which technical and organizational measures need to be put into place in order to have an appropriate level of information security.
Currently, in fact, a large number of companies in Germany are legally obliged to implement these measures as part of an information security system. To ensure their adequacy, these measures need to be constantly updated, overburdening security managers through an inefficient approach, since most requirements are the same for every infrastructure and only little adaptation effort of standard solutions would be necessary. This offers the opportunity for a platform that creates and specifically adapts standards for individual customers.
Having analyzed what the market currently has to offer when it comes to general consulting and information security (from Deloitte, with its active social media presence, to HiSolutions, with its trustworthy and secure image) UNFOLD aims to find an optimal balance when it comes to making a secure world more easily understandable for the user. This project is the golden cut between understanding the complexity of information security and providing solutions that are adaptable to the needs of the user.
After requesting a policy to unfold on our Get Started page (figure left), the user can see on of the UNFOLD features: a Before-After comparison on the What We Deliver page (figure right), that shows how the approach taken by UNFOLD differentiates itself from what is commonly found in the Cyber Security industry. This comparison is based on the following criteria: days of work, amount of work (referred on the page as ‘the policy’), customization and price. The comparison consists of straightforward animations that highlight the benefits of using UNFOLD in a direct and easily understandable way. The data cited in this comparison are the average of the results of the Primary Research conducted for the purpose of this thesis.
The second feature is the Profile page (figure left): here the user can check the progress of their policy, can edit vital information and can easily download part of their policy once completed. Furthermore, whenever there is an update for the project it will come up as a notification on this Profile page, making the process automated and easy to follow. UNFOLD has as a mission to make the cybersecurity world easier to understand for the user: for this reason it offers Awareness Trainings (figure right) with the purpose of educating company employees on a Cyber Security matters.
