EVOLVING PERSPECTIVES
Project realised in collaboration with costume designer Anna TedinoEvolving Perspectives is a project that builds an all-round image for a breakthrough band, outlining a creative vision in line with their aesthetic and their musical identity. Our collaboration with Trio Cavalazzi, a Milan-based band that mixes classical and electronic music, kicks off with an interview to understand their aesthetic and inspirations and,therefore, to define our research.
The logo has been designed with the aim of being minimal but effective. To make it unique, the O has been replaced by a shape extrapolated from Swedish designer Alvar Aalto’s sketches. We wanted to connect to the idea of recycling: we started from already existing images to extract an element and give it a different interpretation. The concept of recycling has been used as a metaphor for the band’s sound, which mixes classical and electronic music to create something unique. This concept is also the base for the EP artwork, which has been built referencing the album title, Tiny Games, and combining details taken from different sketches and images.
The merchandising for the band Trio Cavalazzi has been designed on the same line as the artwork for the band’s EP. It aims at creating a game, a puzzle to solve, referencing the album’s title. To go with the recycling theme, the shapes featured in the merchandising have been extrapolated by artworks and inspirations, creating something completely new out of already existing pieces of art.
